At least if you asked for the Glif, a $20 gadget that’s used to mount an iPhone to a tripod or to prop up an iPhone at various angles for hands-free talking, video watching or video chatting.


It’s for sale on Amazon.com and is being manufactured by Premier Source, a division of Falcon Plastics in Brookings.

Council, BEDC join to build ag tech center

The Brookings City Council Tuesday signed on as cosponsor of a project that will create a $2.4 million "commercialization center" in the city's Telkamp Industrial Park.


The city has agreed to become a co-applicant with the Brookings Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) for a $1.2 million Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant that will partially fund the new center.

A $730 million power line from Brookings County to the Twin Cities area crossed a final hurdle Thursday when the regional grid manager approved a formula to pay for it.


 The board of the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator voted unanimously to designate 16 proposed transmission lines as Multi-Value Project, including the 250-mile Brookings line of the CapX2020 project, which would move South Dakota wind power to Hampton, Minn., just south of St.
