The Brookings area offers countless opportunities to enjoy and participate in the performing arts.

Theatre enthusiasts will enjoy viewing or participating in the productions of the SDSU Theatre Department, Prairie Repertory Theatre, and the Brookings Community Theatre.

If music is your passion, Brookings hosts concerts on the campus at SDSU as well as at the Swiftel Events Center. The renowned Pride of the Dakotas marching band, with nearly 400 members, entertains crowds at half-time of SDSU football games and marches in parades throughout the nation.

From a world-class performing arts center on the campus of South Dakota State University to the band shell at Pioneer Park, the performing arts are alive in Brookings.
