Driving Knowedge-based Economic Development

The SDSU Innovation Campus is a planned research/business park located on the main campus of South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Its purpose is to provide a strategic location where university, city, and county resources and expertise can be partnered successfully with entities from the private sector.

The campus is the product of the SDSU Growth Partnership, a non-profit corporation whose partners include South Dakota State University, the City of Brookings, Brookings County, the SDSU Foundation and the Brookings Economic Development Corporation. Its mission is to create a strategy for knowledge-based economic development in the Brookings region. Its initial focus is the creation of a university related research and business park - the Innovation Campus at SDSU. It will be home to a core concentration of knowledge -based enterprises, collectively known as the Brookings Knowledge Community.

As South Dakota's land grant university, SDSU is charged with providing education, research, and technology transfer in its core curricula. Partnering with the university through occupancy in the park will be of great benefit to organizations and business entities both large and small.
