Training Today’s Workforce

Several entities exist within the Brookings area to help train and educate workers.

South Dakota State University offers over 200 majors and minors that lead to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and professional degrees. Area technical schools offer training in manufacturing, automotive, health, and many other fields.

The Brookings Learning Center in Brookings services the greater Brookings area offers on and off-site training in job and life skills to interested individuals and businesses throughout the area.

The East Central Multi-District is a technical education center serving students from four high schools in the Brookings area, as well as providing adult classes in the evenings. 

Dakota Seeds is an internship or assistantship program available to qualifying businesses in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) disciplines.  The program helps defray the costs of starting a new internship or assistantship.
